What this Project is about
We all have thought about a T-shirt that we really wanted, but nobody made. Well with the heat press, we can make one off designs in a matter of minutes. These designs are high quality, and they will last a long time. You can put whatever you want onto the T-shirt and then Heat press it down to stay on the shirt.
My Heat press Idea
When thinking of a unique design to put onto the sweatshirt, I thought of something golf related, because I was in the middle my season for golf. It also made me think back to a design I saw in a pro-shop that had the phrase "Legalize Mulligans" on it. After thinking of this design I immediately thought of what I wanted the design to look like, as a direct copy of it is plagiarism. The photo's above are what I came up with.
Now its time to load it up into Illustrator
I first made the text that I wanted and customized the font and the size. There are two of them, because I want the text to be shadowed and look 3D when it is on my sweatshirt. I also wanted to have a guy swing and look like he hit a golf ball. all of these would be different colors that got me to my 4 colors needed for the full points.
Making the Sweatshirt
After cutting out the vinyl you wish to use, you must push down hard on the heat-press machine. After pressing down on the Machine, wait several seconds before the magnetic lock releases, and the vinyl is transferred too your project. The great thing about heat press, is that you can do it multiple times on just one T-shirt.
The Final Product
After all is said and done, I am happy with how my project turned out, it looks nice, and I will actually wear it from day to day. Overall, really happy with the design, and this is something that I am definitely interested in.
Final Thoughts
Heat press is an amazing tool that I am lucky to have used. The actual science behind it is so simple, that you can even do it at home with an iron. Its great for one off shirts, however I wish that the vinyl you get could be vinyl you could use with other things. I am now actually looking to get a Cricket Machine so I can do my own Heat-press.
